DEBBIE
MCNAIR
Debbie McNair graduated
from the Ontario College of Art in 1988 with a diploma in Fine Arts.
Debbie's 3rd year was spent in Florence Italy,
with the OCA off-campus program. This proved to be a defining year,
where she spent particular attention developing her passion for drawing
and oil painting.
Upon her graduation
from OCA, Debbie spent four years as a full time graphic designer, and
at the same time a free-lance portrait artist with a wide range of
commissions which included people, pets and homes.
Debbie’s next career
focus was that of a fulltime mother and part-time designer. Embracing
her role as a mother she developed a love for form in
ceramic arts. Creating tactile art was
very fulfilling while immersed in raising her 4 children.
After time away from
oil painting Debbie has spent the last several years redefining her love
of painting. Her passion for portraits has always been a part of her.
Her new portrait works reflects a
knowledge and excitement for the human form, and an unique approach to
this discipline.
