ERIC DAVID

The artists lives and works in Toronto, Ontario.

Through his lyrical landscapes, intimate city passages and portraits Eric David examines the dualities within nature and personality.  This duality is expressed metaphorically in Mr. David’s paintings through the way colour is combined with form and value.

Mr. David is the cofounder of the St. Clair Arts Festival and StudioTour and a member of the York Artists Guild and the Toronto Watercolour Society.  He is a graduate of the University of Toronto where he studied Fine Art Studio and Applied Mathematics. He is also an avid photographer and enjoys exploring the Haliburton Highlands whenever he can.

Mr. David’s watercolours, acrylics and mixed media works are in various private and corporate collections in Ontario, Oregon, Florida and Germany.

Endless Moment

Forging a path through virgin snow

down to the lake

winding toward the distant cuts

sharp blades on a small patch of ice

face flushed in an endless moment.

Back through the woods

following the sweet smoke trail

slowly rising from the cabin

hidden high on the hill

as the brilliant sky welcomes night.
